Pendulum Instruments introduces the new GPS-12R, a GPS controlled rubidium Frequency Standard. This new instrument receives its frequency stability from the GPS satellite system, and is suited for many applications as e.g.:

Truly portable and battery operated 2.048 MHz telecom clock (1.544 MHz optional)

Stationary telecom clock with PRC-performance and redundant -48Vdc power supply

In-house 5 or 10 MHz low-noise frequency standard for metrology, lab and test systems
In the basic configuration, the GPS-12R outputs 2.048 MHz and a 1-pps time reference for calibration or synchronization of test instruments and network elements in telecom networks. For SONET networks an optional T1 clock (1.544 MHz) is available. Thanks to the ultra-stable built-in Rubidium atomic clock oscillator, the frequency and time stability is excellent, whether in GPS-controlled mode or in hold-over mode. Optional batteries keep the oscillator running for hours without AC mains voltage, resulting in zero warm-up time after transportation.
For time synchronization of DAB or DVB transmitters, the 1-pps output has a very high stability, securing uninterrupted operation over several days, even after a loss of GPS. The hold-over drift is less than 1µs/24h.
For use as a frequency standard for metrology, research labs and test systems, the GPS-12R has optional 1, 5 and 10 MHz outputs with very low phase noise. The new inexpensive GPS-12R gives Cesium Frequency Standard performance at a fraction of the Cesium Standard cost.

Pendulum Instruments introduces the Path Align-R™, Model 2240 & 2241 Microwave Antenna Path Alignment Test Set. This unique product with its simple interface is specifically designed to greatly simplify and quickly align microwave antenna links. The 2240/41 is very accurate and adds frequencies to the model 2200/01 which has become the industry standard in alignment instrumentation. The Path Align-R™ provides non-technically trained personnel the ability to make highly accurate alignments in an affordable package. If the path under test is questionable, the Path Align-R™ can step right in with minimal effort to verify any problems. In addition, the Path Align-R™ , with a pair of antennas, is all that is needed for doing site surveys to verify the link prior to expending resources on land acquisition, tower installation, equipment purchase, etc.

Pendulum Instruments introduces a new version of the Analyze-R™, the model 2261A Spectrum Monitor/Analyzer. This new model addresses the 900 MHz & 2.4 GHz unlicensed ISM bands, the 3.4–3.6 GHz licensed/unlicensed bands, the 4.9 GHz Public Safety band, the unlicensed 5 GHz U-NII / ISM bands, and the 5.8 GHz DSCR band. Unique features of the 2261A include 38 selectable 100 MHz-wide bands, Unattended Data Recording, Auto Calculation of C/I, GPS Data Logging, Sensitivity is >-103dBm, The simple interface of the Analyze-R™ provides non-technically trained personnel the ability to make highly accurate site measurements of interference and radio performance in an affordable package. The 2261A is rugged, light-weight (<7 lbs.), battery powered, and a fraction of the cost of a full-featured general-purpose spectrum analyzer…and far more sensitive and easier to use!
The Basic Instrument. The Analyze-R™ is the only application-specific spectrum analyzer on the market specifically designed for wireless interference and fading measurement and analysis of wireless links. The Analyze-R™ provides frequency and amplitude information across thirty-seven 100 MHz bands. Resolution bandwidth is 1 MHz with sensitivity better than -100 dBm (20–30 dB better than full featured spectrum analyzers!). Amplitude range spans -103 dBm to -30 dBm (peak hold or average). Sweep time is only 300 milliseconds and an adjustable marker provides specific data point measurement of amplitude and frequency within the band.

Die Begründung der Jury war, dass Pendulum Instruments kommerziell und erfolgreich hochtechnologische Produkte entwickelt und vertreibt. Während der Krisenjahren 2002 - 2003 der gesamten Branche, ist Pendulum gegen den Strom gegangen und hat sehr stark auf Forschung und Entwicklung gesetzt.
