Ultra Fast Speed & High Resolution

Featuring the fastest measurement speed of 250,000 measurements /sec of frequency or power with a short acquisition time of 25ms (auto) or zero (manual). The CNT-90XL delivers the highest resolution of any microwave counter: 12 digits resolution in a 1-second measurement period.

Advanced Statistical Analysis and Multi-mode Presentation

The graphic display shows frequency or power changes over time, directly on-screen, providing measurement and analysis of FM/AM modulation, power and frequency changes, VCO settling, post-tuning drift, and more. Built-in statistical processing presents on screen display of frequency/power distribution, frequency/power stability, or modulation; in numeric, trend-line, or histogram formats.

Multi-functional Frequency Counter with Power Meter

The multi-functional CNT-90XL serves as a 300 MHz general purpose timer / counter & microwave frequency counter / analyzer with an integrated power meter, all in one instrument. Now, for the first time, the variations in signal power can be seen, collected, and analyzed in the same manner as frequency: both numerically and graphically.

Microwave Frequency Range to 60 GHz and Time Base

The CNT-90XL is available in four models, with frequency range to 27, 40, 46 & 60 GHz. All models are available with either of two optional internal OCXO time-bases for applications requiring higher measurement stability: very high stability (0.01ppm/month); and ultra-high stability (0.003ppm/month).

GPIB/USB Interfaces

USB and GPIB (IEEE 488.2) interfaces are standard with the CNT-90XL. The GPIB interface is SCPI/1999 compliant and includes a HP53131A emulation mode for easy inclusion in test systems designed for older model counters. This eliminates the need to re-program system commands when replacing older counters with the modern CNT-90XL.
